Thousands return to streets across Portugal in housing protests
Thousands of people marched in Lisbon, Porto and Coimbra on Saturday in the latest round of housing rights protests that have now been ongoing for nearly three weeks, as civic movements maintained pressure on the government to adopt emergency measures to address the housing crisis.
In Lisbon, demonstrators gathered along Avenida da Liberdade behind a flatbed truck playing music, with police closing traffic as the crowd swelled.
Banners read "Housing is a right, homes are for living" and "Let through those who want a home to live in."
Houthis, Saudi-led coalition exchange heavy strikes
Yemen's Houthi group and the Saudi-led coalition exchanged heavy attacks on Saturday, as the Houthis claimed widespread missile and drone strikes across Saudi Arabia, while intense Saudi-led airstrikes rocked Houthi-held areas in Yemen, causing multiple casualties.
Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea said in a statement that the group launched seven missile and drone attacks targeting airports, oil facilities, and a military base in the Saudi cities of Riyadh, Yanbu, Rabigh, Dammam, Najran and Khamis Mushait.
Meanwhile, the Saudi-led coalition announced it had intercepted and destroyed several missiles launched by the Houthi group toward the cities of Riyadh, Taif and Yanbu, as well as a drone in the Eastern Province.
Zelensky says Ukraine ready to freeze front lines
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine was prepared to freeze combat operations along the existing frontlines to bring a swift end to the conflict, while firmly rejecting territorial concessions.
In an interview with ABC News on Friday, Zelensky expressed willingness to reach a ceasefire deal but rejected proposals to give up 25 percent of Ukrainian territory.
Zelensky also expressed regret over the recent decline in U.S. military assistance, saying Ukraine had received only 24 interceptor missiles for its Patriot air defense systems from the United States over the past three months, far below its average monthly requirement of 350. He underscored the urgency of the situation, saying 30 ballistic missiles struck Kiev on Thursday night alone.
Israeli army forces Palestinian families to evacuate homes in Hebron
Israeli forces forced dozens of Palestinian families to evacuate their homes in Hebron in the southern West Bank on Saturday, hours after announcing the launch of a military operation in the area.
Palestinian security and local sources told Xinhua that large numbers of Israeli troops stormed the Al-Jalda and Deir Baha areas, surrounded them, and ordered residents to leave their homes.
They said the troops used loudspeakers to issue evacuation orders and designated three exit points. Residents were subjected to searches and security interrogations before being allowed to leave.
Death toll from Karak church attack in Jordan rises to 9

The two people in critical condition succumbed to their injuries at Prince Ali Military Hospital, Jordan Public Security Directorate said in a statement.
Earlier in the day, Jordan's King Abdullah II chaired a National Security Council meeting, during which he condemned the attack, saying there would be no leniency when it comes to the lives of Jordanians.
Trump floats new Iran strikes, says U.S. could take "whole country"
U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday raised the prospect of renewed military strikes against Iran, claiming that the United States could seize all of the country's oil or even take over the entire country.
"Iran is not able to do much now. And we could, if we wanted to, just take all of the oil," Trump told reporters as he left the White House for a rally in Florida. "We could take the whole country."
Asked about U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz saying the conflict with Iran could drag on for another year, Trump said: "We could end it very quickly ... The question is, 'Do we want to finish it off or do we just want to let it wither?'"
