Myanmar's Yangon Port receives 518 container vessels in 1st 9 months of 2026

YANGON, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's Yangon Port received 518 container vessels in the first nine months of 2026, the state-owned daily The Global New Light of Myanmar reported on Tuesday.

The port handled 61 container vessels in September, it said, adding that 56 container vessels are scheduled to arrive at the port in October.

Yangon Port handled 728 container vessels in 2025, up from 633 in 2024 and 629 in 2023, according to the report.

As one of Myanmar's major international ports, Yangon Port handles more than 90 percent of the country's regular exports and imports. The port comprises the Yangon Inner Harbour and the Thilawa Outer Harbour, with a total of 48 berths. Enditem
