13th China Film Festival opens in New Zealand
WELLINGTON, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- The 13th China Film Festival held its premiere in the New Zealand capital on Tuesday evening, with several Chinese films set to be screened during the festival.
"Traces of Justice" was presented at the premiere, followed by an engaging interaction between the creative team and the audience.
"I'm particularly pleased that the film is about a police officer, because I spent 40 years as a police officer in Wellington and around New Zealand before I became a politician," Greg O'Connor, assistant speaker of New Zealand House of Representatives, said at the premiere.
The opening and premiere ceremony in Auckland, New Zealand's largest city, was held on Monday evening. Five films, namely "Once Upon a Time in the Middle East," "Dear You," "Pegasus 3," "All Wishes Come True" and "Blades of the Guardians: Wind Rises in the Desert," will land at cinemas simultaneously in Auckland and Wellington on Nov. 6-8 during the festival.
The China Film Festival and the New Zealand Film Festival have been held alternately in the two countries. The 13th China Film Festival is organized jointly by the China Film Administration, the Chinese Embassy in New Zealand and the Chinese Consulate General in Auckland.
