Real Sociedad signs Barcelona defender Fort
MADRID, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- Real Sociedad has signed defender Hector Fort from FC Barcelona, with the 20-year-old agreeing a contract until the end of July 2031.
Fort, who celebrated his 20th birthday earlier in August, moves to San Sebastian after making 30 first-team appearances for Barcelona before spending last season on loan at Elche.
He made 17 appearances for Elche, showing his versatility by playing at both left-back and right-back, as well as in a wide midfield role, before suffering a serious shoulder injury.
The deal sees Barcelona retain a buy-back option and a percentage of any future sale. Fort becomes Real Sociedad's second signing of the summer after the arrival of central defender Mamadou Sarr on loan from Chelsea.
