Tower-type solar power plant starts operation in NE China
China's northernmost tower-type solar power plant has been put into operation. Surrounded by 19,667 mirrors, the tower receives reflected sunlight to heat a salt mixture that acts like a thermal battery. It helps cut 130,000 tonnes of carbon emissions a year.
