Spain looks to extend unbeaten run to 40 matches against Croatia in Nations League
MADRID, Sept. 28 (Xinhua)
Spain plays its second UEFA Nations League match of the international break on Tuesday night when Croatia visits the Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium in Seville.
Spain goes into the match following its 3-2 win over England at Wembley on Saturday night, knowing that another victory would put it firmly on course to qualify for the quarterfinals ahead of Saturday's home match against the Czech Republic.
Croatia, meanwhile, will look to build on its opening victory in Prague, secured with goals from Luka Modric and Marco Pasalic.
Spain coach Luis de la Fuente called Atletico Madrid defender Robin Le Normand into his squad on Sunday after Eric Garcia withdrew with a minor knee problem. With four matches in under two weeks, De la Fuente is expected to make further changes on Tuesday night.
David Raya has a chance of starting in goal ahead of Unai Simon, while Alex Grimaldo and Dean Huijsen could replace Marc Cucurella and Aymeric Laporte in defense.
Pedri, who impressed during his 20 minutes against England, could replace Fabian Ruiz, with Martin Zubimendi coming in for Rodri Hernandez and either Fermin Lopez or Mikel Merino replacing Dani Olmo.
There will be a full house in Seville for Spain's first match on home soil since winning the World Cup in the summer, and De la Fuente and his players will look to maintain the momentum as they seek to extend their unbeaten run to 40 matches. ■
