Trump's special arrangements for Xi's U.S. visit

U.S. President Donald Trump has made many special arrangements for Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit, which underscores the significance of the visit and the exceptional welcome extended to the Chinese leader. The following are some of the arrangements:

-- Xi and his wife Peng Liyuan were warmly greeted by Trump and his wife, Melania Trump, at the airport in a rare planeside welcome.

-- A 21-gun salute was fired to welcome Xi upon his arrival, which was among the highest military honors and rarely rendered at an airport.

-- Two military flyovers, one at the airport and the other at the welcome ceremony held at the White House, were conducted in honor of Xi's visit.

-- Peng visited the National Museum of Asian Art accompanied by Melania Trump.

-- Xi and Peng attended a state dinner hosted by Trump and his wife at the White House, with heads from major U.S. tech companies and business leaders in attendance.

-- Xi and Peng had a tea chat with Trump and his wife at the White House.
